enjoying the journey

Wondering if reflecting on the unique aspects of all journeys, what is so different about mine?

Beginning with Monday

It's Monday in the library. But first things first. First the alarm awakens me, after another night of tossing and turning. Putting one foot in front of the other will get me there though. To make a start it's time to make the bed. Then everything that was on the floor gets transferred onto it. Satisfaction, There is now a large clear horizontal surface on which to spread my books and papers. Which ones to take with me today? There is going to be a Lab session soon, soon because the previous ones took some preparation, and the most recent one is one I missed after Asthma problems and some fear of calculations.

But priorities, eating, no even more important, tea, Irish Breakfast will kick-start a slow morning. No glorious view to gaze at as I sip tea once again, just some endless facebook scrabble games, with anonymous word torturers from across the planet.

Tea over, cook some muffins for morning tea, burnt offerings again. But it's food after all.
Traipsing off with my swag of books. I have waited until the inner city traffic has died down and the school kids are tucked away in their schools for a while. The challenge is for my car to make it up the hill, with the petrol gauge showing empty and the kilometres since the gauge first glowed orange is now at 30 ks.

The drive up hill is kind of excruciating. The drive belt is whining. The front wheel is kind of screeching and the brakes are making a groaning sound. I study the commuters around me. Can they hear the sounds my vehicle extends to them. Or are the sounds a figment of my imagination?

There is a park available, close to where I was ticketed three years ago. In spite of the sign saying "all day", the officer said no! This is inner city and it really means 2 hours only.
Shouldering my load, and leaving my locked car to its own fate I approach the citadel of learning
